What are 'Pre-completion checks'?

Before you are able to complete the purchase of the property, your conveyancer will carry out 'pre-completion checks'. Their purpose is to check that the previous search results remain up to date.

If you have a mortgage then your conveyancer will also perform a bankruptcy check for your lender. Once your conveyancer is happy with the results, then the only remaining step is for both conveyancers to agree they are ready to complete the purchase!
