What are 'Searches'?

Searches are enquiries made to various authorities that hold information about the property you plan to purchase. Put simply, their purpose is to find out everything about your property including the land it sits on and the area around it. The main searches include local authority searches, environmental searches and drainage and water searches.

These details are really important to know before you legally commit to purchasing a property, and your conveyancer will review all of the search results carefully to make you aware of any potential problems (if there are any)!
