Adding a new reservation - Choose your Conveyancer

This step is where you can choose the buyer’s conveyancer.

To begin, you will be prompted with the question: Has a conveyancer already been instructed outside of the Yourkeys platform?

To continue, please select one of the two options, then click the Save & next button.

If you selected No, instruct a conveyancer now through the platform


Choosing a conveyancer who is integrated with the Yourkeys platform will display a small Yourkeys logo and show estimated legal fees

Integrated conveyancers will receive the instruction and all of the reservation information directly to their case management system. They will also update all of the purchase milestones automatically on the Progression Summary, meaning you have real-time updates on how the sale is advancing.

If you selected Yes, enter the details of the instructed conveyance


If you choose a conveyancer who is not integrated, estimated legal fees will not display and you will need to manually progress the sale in the Progression Summary in order to keep the buyer up to date on their purchase. We will also send the reservation document set via email for them to download securely

If you can't find the conveyancer in our search list, you are still able to enter their details manually too. The key points needed are:

  • The company name
  • The company address
  • Conveyancer name and contact information

For either method, once a conveyancer is chosen, a mandatory tick box will display the message: Please confirm that the buyer(s) consent to us passing their contact and purchase details onto this conveyancer so they can review their instruction.

This will need to be ticked before you can proceed to instruct the conveyancer.

Changing conveyancer

If you need to change the selected conveyancer at any point, you can edit this in the Review & Sign step if the reservation hasn’t yet been confirmed as completed. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Buyers Conveyancer step
  2. Click Edit to cancel the instruction
  3. Enter the details of the new instruction

If the reservation has already been confirmed as completed, you can still change the conveyancer.
To do this:

  1. Navigate to your Reservation Summary
  2. Click Review & Edit which will bring you to the Review and Sign page
  3. Click Edit. This will allow you to cancel the instruction in the same manner as above
  4. A pop-up will show explaining any further actions needed as a result of the edit

Alternatively, you can contact our Customer Support team, who can make this amendment for you on the platform and have your instruction re-sent to your new conveyancer.

Once completed, click Save & next to continue with Reservation Deposit.
