In this step, you can choose the conveyancer you want to represent you. A conveyancer helps transfer the legal ownership of a property from one person to another. Both the seller and yourself will need a conveyancer, as both will talk with each other in order to complete the sale.
Did you know...
Choosing an integrated conveyancer greatly speeds up the purchase of your property and can decrease the transaction time by up to 66%!
To begin, we will prompt you with the question: Has a conveyancer already been instructed outside of the Yourkeys platform?
To continue, please select one of the two options, then click the Save & next button.
This article includes:
- If you selected No, instruct a conveyancer now through the platform
- If you selected Yes, enter the details of the instructed conveyance
If you selected No, instruct a conveyancer now through the platform
Note
Choosing a conveyancer who is integrated with the Yourkeys platform will display a small Yourkeys logo and show estimated legal fees
From our search list, you have the option to choose an integrated conveyancer which will provide live case-tracking. This means that after your reservation is complete, you'll be automatically notified of every purchase update in real-time by email and also within your account here.
We'll also send all of your purchase information directly to their case management system. Additionally, we can show you the estimated fees for the integrated conveyancers, however, please note that there may be additional third party fees on top of this.
To choose a conveyancer, follow these steps:
- Type in the name of the conveyancer you wish to instruct, into the search box
- Alternatively, you can choose from the list directly below
- Click the View details button of your chosen conveyancer
- To confirm your choice, click in the tick box and then click Appoint this conveyancer
- Click Save & next to finish
If you selected Yes, enter the details of the instructed conveyance
Note
If you choose a conveyancer who is not integrated, estimated legal fees will not display and you will need to manually progress the sale in the Progression Summary in order to keep the buyer up to date on their purchase. We will also send the reservation document set via email for them to download securely
If you can't find your instructed conveyancer in our search list, you are still able to enter their details manually too.
We will ask you to enter:
- The company name
- The company address
- Conveyancer name and contact information
Once these details are entered, a mandatory tick box will display the message: Please confirm that you consent to us passing your contact and purchase details onto this conveyancer so they can review your instruction.
To confirm your choice, click on the tick box and then click Appoint this conveyance. You can then click Save & next to finish this step.
Note
If you need to change the selected conveyancer at any point, you can request the seller to do so or contact our Customer Support team directly to make this change for you. If an instruction to a conveyancer is cancelled and a new conveyancer is selected, we will email all stakeholders confirming this change
