My Reservation - Identity Check

The next step in your reservation journey is to complete an identity check. Your seller may do this in person or they may choose to use our partner Onfido to complete this step.

 Did you know...

Under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, conveyancers are under a legal obligation to take reasonable steps to ensure that their firms’ client accounts are not used by criminals for the purpose of laundering money earned through illegal activities

To help with this process, we use our partner Onfido to create an identity report. The Primary buyer can complete their check first, then help all other buyers to complete theirs.


Please be aware that all buyers will need to provide a valid ID (driver's licence, passport or another type of identity card) in order to proceed. The photos of the ID will need to be uploaded to the platform, either via a computer or mobile device. Following this, each buyer will need to perform two short tasks on video

How to use Onfido

Your seller will send you a link to Onfido. Click the link and follow these steps:

  1. Choose which ID type you'll be using (Passport, license or another form of ID)
  2. Choose the country the ID was issued
  3. Take a photo of your ID document (front and back)
  4. Take a photo of your face
  5. Record a short video stating the numbers on the screen
  6. Tap Finish recording then tap Submit video to complete

Once your recording has been submitted, your results will be sent to you and the seller confirming your identity.


To ensure that your Onfido ID check is uploaded correctly, make sure that you take no longer than 20 seconds once you press start on the video to complete the tasks or it will time out
